The Griffon String Quartet’s Spring Community Concert celebrates the season with a vibrant and expressive program spanning French charm, Russian intensity, and Bohemian lyricism. The evening opens with elegant and melodic miniatures by Cécile Chaminade, followed by Sergei Prokofiev’s bold and dynamic Quartet No. 2 in F Major, a work rich with rhythmic energy and heartfelt expression. After intermission, the quartet performs Antonín Dvořák’s radiant Quartet No. 14 in A-flat Major, one of his final chamber masterpieces, filled with soaring melodies and joyful spirit.
Join us for an inspiring afternoon or evening of live chamber music performed by Roy Meyer and Alex Norris (violins), Oryann Tsaig (viola), and Jesse Nummelin (cello).
Generously supported by local arts champions, these concerts are made possible by the Wisconsin Arts Board, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Doctors in Recital.
