One of the most dramatic and rapturous works in the literature concludes our season. You will be swept away by Chausson’s surging and impulsive masterwork, expertly and passionately realized by our soloists, David Perry, violin, and Jeannie Yu, piano, framed by our string quartet including Ann Palen and Cole Randolph. It’s a unique work, orchestral in concept and monumental in scope. Fellow Frenchman Théodore Dubois’s Quintet, featuring oboist Lindsay Flowers, sets the tone with gaiety and élan. You only have two chances to hear this program. We strongly suggest the Gala on Labor Day for all the festivities and fine food to celebrate another glorious season.
