
Two masterworks for strings by Mozart and Dvořák bookend this program. In between, both programmatically and historically, is Anton Reicha, a friend of Beethoven’s who was born the same year. An important musical influence in the 19th century, his brilliant Clarinet Quintet is a masterpiece and a wonderful showcase for the featured instrument.
