Midsummer’s Music, in collaboration with its affiliate ensemble the Griffon String Quartet, proudly presents The Musical Museum, a unique and deeply engaging musical experience that blends live performance with insights from neuroscience, poetry, and conversation. These free, public events will take place January 21–23 in Door County and De Pere.

Special guest Clara Takarabe – violist, neuroscience researcher, and co-director of the Northwestern Music and Medical Program – joins the Griffon String Quartet for this innovative program. Takarabe is a clinical music researcher at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, where her work explores the powerful connections between music, brain health, and human connection.

The Musical Museum is a dementia-informed, life-enrichment program designed to honor the intellectual, emotional, and social needs of individuals at this stage of life. Musical performances are thoughtfully interwoven with commentary and discussion around sound, music, memory, and poetry—inviting audiences not only to listen, but to reflect and connect.

These events are free and open to the public and are generously supported by the Helen Daniels Bader Alzheimer’s & Healthy Aging Speaker Series.

Event Schedule (All concerts begin at 1:00 PM):
January 21 – Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church, Ellison Bay
January 22 – Dudley Birder Theatre, De Pere
January 23 – MUSE, Sturgeon Bay

Audiences are warmly invited to attend one or more performances and experience how music, science, and conversation come together in the Musical Museum—a program that celebrates curiosity, connection, and the enduring power of music.
