Gather with the Griffon: A Midday Concert Series That Enriches Mind, Spirit, and Community in Green Bay and Door County

The November concerts are being presented as part of the Music for Food initiative.

The Griffon String Quartet invites the public to Gather with the Griffon, a series of B Double Sharp midday miniconcerts offering audiences an opportunity to pause, reflect, and rejuvenate through music.

The special performances will take place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 12:00 pm at MUSE in Sturgeon Bay, and on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 12:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Green Bay. The concerts are being presented as part of the Music for Food initiative, a musician-led effort that uses the power of live performance to combat food insecurity.

Audience members are encouraged to contribute by bringing nonperishable food items or making a monetary donation in support of the Bay View Lutheran food pantry in Sturgeon Bay and the First Presbyterian food pantry in Green Bay – at the respective concerts – thereby helping to provide direct assistance to individuals and families in need within the local communities.

The Griffon String Quartet – comprising Roy Meyer and Alex Norris, violins; Oryann Tsaig, viola; and Jesse Nummelin, cello – will perform a range of works selected to inspire connection and contemplation. Each Gather with the Griffon program provides an accessible space for listeners to experience chamber music in a relaxed yet refined environment.

Admission to all Gather with the Griffon concerts is free, and no tickets are required.

Gather with the Griffon performances in Green Bay and Door County are made possible through the generous support of the Wisconsin Arts Board, the National Endowment for the Arts, Little Eddie Big Cup, the Kopseker Trust of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, the United Way of Door County, and Doctors in Recital.

The Griffon String Quartet, an affiliate of Midsummer’s Music, is dedicated to presenting exceptional chamber music performances and fostering meaningful community engagement throughout northeast Wisconsin. Through innovative programming, educational outreach, and collaborations with local organizations, the quartet seeks to enrich lives and strengthen connections through the shared experience of music.
