Midsummer’s: Long-ago memories lead to ‘Fast Friends’

Jim Berkenstock-headshot_webLast week, in the spirit of celebrating our 25th anniversary season, I wrote about our very first concert in 1991, which occurred at the home of Dianne and Peter Trenchard in Sister Bay. Tuesday, we made a trip down Memory Lane and performed there again.

This week we are returning to another of our concert venues from our initial series. Of the five concerts we performed that year, two took place at the Hardy Gallery in Ephraim during Fyr Bal Festival. Three women who were jointly running the gallery graciously allowed us to perform there. They also assiduously encouraged Hardy followers to come to these concerts in their favorite gallery surrounded by water. Alicia Mulliken, Penny Schultz and Suzanne Musikantow all pitched in to help turn out an audience and turn the gallery into a little recital hall for a couple of magical evenings.

Now, 25 years later, we are returning this Friday to the Hardy, as we have every year since our first season.
